2D Lead Artist

Glassworks London are currently seeking a talented 2D artist to join the team.

This is an opportunity for an experienced creative who enjoys lead artist responsibility, is happy to work on a variety of different projects and has high standards of finishing. The scope of work ranges from commercials to longform and specialised in-house R&D projects, from traditional live-action online to full-CG production and everything in between.

Essential attributes:

  • Creative eye and artistic sensibility
  • Technical ability across a wide range of 2D disciplines
  • 8+ yrs industry experience in high-end digital compositing
  • 4+ years experience as a lead artist / VFX supervisor
  • Extensive shoot supervision experience
  • A high standard of quality control
  • Enthusiasm and an inquisitive mind
  • Excellent time management and ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Calm under pressure
  • Creativity in problem solving
  • Thorough understanding of 3D pipeline 

Software:

  • Flame or Nuke (or both)

3D Lead Artist

Glassworks London are currently seeking an experienced 3D Lead to join the team.

This is an opportunity for an individual who has and enjoys using a broad range of 3D skills. The role requires confidence in facing clients and working closely with in-house and external directors and creatives, as well as leading teams of internal artists and managing projects along with the production team. The scope of work ranges from commercials to longform and specialised in-house R&D projects.

Essential skills:

  • 8+ yrs industry experience working with photo-real VFX
  • Experience leading teams of artists
  • Confident client-facing communication
  • Technical ability across a wide range of 3D disciplines
  • A high standard of quality control
  • Photorealistic rendering ability
  • Excellent time management and ability to work to tight deadlines
  • On set/shoot supervision experience

Software:

Houdini Technical Artist

Glassworks London are currently seeking an experienced Houdini Technical Artist to join the team for a fixed-term contract on a specialised project.

Relevant skills include creative problem solving + custom tool building.

Knowledge / experience with rigging and python scripting would be a plus.

Studio Coordinator

The Studio Coordinator is in charge of the reception desk, welcoming guests and staff alike. Working alongside the Office Manager and COO, the remit includes office management and leadership of front of house, client services, travel arrangements, relationship building and talent acquisition, and organisation of staff and client events.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Welcoming visitors in a friendly manner, identifying clients and settling them in the seating area while promptly informing the relevant member of staff of their arrival
  • Assessing incoming enquiries both by phone and by email, logging messages, screening calls and/or and directing them to the relevant person or department
  • Diary management of the meeting room and arrangement of meetings / conference calls
  • Liaison with production to pre-empt client attendance and monitor what jobs are in the building
  • Making travel arrangements for the CEO’s inter-office travel, including accommodation and Covid-19 protocol planning 
  • Making travel arrangements for employee travel including awards functions & shoots
  • Organising any in-house social events or creative activities such as life drawing or barbecues
  • Organising any client events such as in-house drinks evenings or external lunches / dinners
  • Working with the Amsterdam and Barcelona teams on intercompany staff social events / competitions
  • Organising work experience placements and internships
  • Day-to-day administration assistance to the CEO, Office Manager and COO when required, ensuring confidentiality when dealing with sensitive documents.
  • Monitoring who is first-in and last-out of the building, ensuring they understand opening and locking-up procedures and protocols
  • Receiving and dispatching materials for the company – booking couriers and managing post & parcels
  • Receiving & dispatching data drives and other client material in collaboration with the I/O team
  • Managing and ordering office stock, food, drinks and other purchases and ensuring costs are controlled, keeping receipts for the Financial Controller and updating them about outgoing payments
  • Maintaining the kitchen area to a high standard including daily cleaning of the coffee machine
  • Maintaining the general appearance of the office including plant welfare
  • Client services - including ordering lunch or other food & drink from outside the office, keeping receipts for the Financial Controller and updating them about purchases and recharge status on the day
  • Talent Acquisition working alongside HoDs, including establishing and maintaining relationships with educational institutions

Competencies and Qualifications

  • Personable and professional manner in dealing with clients and telephone enquiries.
  • Comfortable user of Apple and Microsoft OS, Microsoft Office and Google Business Suite.
  • A high standard of numeracy and literacy.
  • Experience working in office management and/or hospitality

Personal Situation

Able to commute reliably to central London. This role requires being in the office 5 days per week. Standard working hours 8.30am - 5.30pm. (Working hours may vary depending on company requirements.)

Summary

The role of studio coordinator at Glassworks is an important job. Being responsible for the appearance and upkeep of the office, the Studio Coordinator needs to be able to work autonomously, have an eye for detail and an understanding of high levels of client service. The administrative duties require organisational acumen and the social duties require a creative outlook and a highly positive attitude. The role helps develop a broad range of skills that are extremely useful in present & future career roles.
